I didn't end things well with him and I'm starting to regret that. I wish....I could have gotten to understand why he was the way he was. he was so nice to me at first.

He didn't hold any grudges or hard feelings against you. He may not have been willing to die for your sake, but he was willing to do what he could.
Well, he was thinking in the short-term and didn't realize long-term manipulations are harder to maintain. Furthermore, as soon as trust is lost after a long time, a person may very well lose their place in this world.
If it makes you feel any better, he regretted that for a long time all you had was the two of us concerned about you. 'Course, I reassured him that it's better we are on your side than against you.

( the two of them were strange men in the end and while she didn't know the full extent of how he cared for heather in his own, strange way, she felt somewhat assured by vincent's words. things were complicated between heather and chrollo and while it seemed more clear between vincent and him, she's sure there was something else lingering between them.

I guess you're right again, I won't think about it anymore. next time I make a friend though, try not to scheme with them about protecting me at a distance would you? it's kinda weird. you can just tell me you're doing it.
[ It certainly is nice to be told he's right. Honestly, he feels like he has been right about a whole lot - and will continue to be right going forward. However, he also knows if he acts a bit too smug, his warnings will end up going in one ear and out the other. Again. ]
