However, you can, at least, rest assured that if something happened I would do something. But you're right -- it's better not to threaten but I'll give some encouraging words to him to show that I am not all just "thoughts and prayers."
How to explain simply her existence is enough to help him? It sounds unreasonably sentimental and he dislikes that to such a degree that he thinks of how best to word it that leaves out sentimentality. He wonders if people felt consoled with the existence of Castiel, for example. They would know for certain that a God exists in a world; their prayers, too, may have been going to a God that exists. The fact that one is in reality means another must be, as well.
For as insane and deranged as people would call him, he has proof that his God is real. She is just as terrifying and kind as he always thought She was. The love and fear he felt did go to some entity. Is there anything better than being right? He doesn't think so, especially in this matter. ]
[Maria thinks she probably does pay it in ways that she may not understand. she can't really understand what just her existence means to Vincent but she knows that being close to Heather is certainly payment enough. she's a bargaining chip for the one that really matters.
